About

Hope is a theatre director who makes work all around the UK, often in the South West and London. She is very passionate about regional theatre and making theatre more accessible both in terms of location and reaching wider audiences.

Her work, whether that be adaptations of classics, new writing, or musicals, is interested in exploring the intricacies of human relationships with thoughtfulness and guts.

Movement and music are key elements at the heart of the work she creates, and she finds it an interesting and playful way in to making work. Hope has experience of working as a director, movement director, facilitator and dramaturg. She also is experienced in working with actors in training and young people and has worked as an assistant director to Sally Cookson and Tilly Branson.

Hope is currently working at Shakespeare’s Globe as a scene director, and recently finished rehearsals as assistant director for Gaze playing at the Northern Stage.

Hope graduated in 2021 from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School with a Masters in Drama Directing. Previously Hope studied English Literature at the University of Bristol, graduating in 2017.
